Love is in the air! This holiday season brought joy and love (and maybe a diamond ring) and now it’s time to start planning for your big day! There is so much more that goes into planning for a wedding than just the actual wedding. A great place to start is with finding a photographer that you connect with. Their style should speak to you and you should be able to see yourself in front of their camera. Often times, once you decide on a wedding photographer the next step is to schedule engagement photos. This is an exciting time in you and your partners life and one that shouldn’t be overlooked. Engagement photos are a great way to connect with your photographer and really get to know each other before the day of your wedding.

Engagement photos are a time to have fun and be in the moment with the person your fell in love with. Enjoy the experience and make it special. As a photographer, I like to tell my couples to choose a location that is special and means something to them. This may be where he proposed or where you went on your first date. Create a new memory that will mean something to you years later. Something the two of you can look back on and smile about.
Right before Christmas, I had to opportunity to photograph Mackenzie and Dylan's engagement session. We walked through choosing a location, planning outfits that match this location as well as the look and style that they liked, and I sat down and got to know them. What they like, what they don't like, what they wanted out of the session, what this experience meant to them and so much more. It's all in the details!
So, let’s start planning your engagement photo session!
